Instructions for Preparing Similac Advance from Powder 27 Calorie Per Ounce

At the moment my daughter has to drink a higher calorie counted formula in order for her to gain weight. It’s not the most difficult formula to make nor is it the easiest for those who don’t have instructions on how to do it. I currently only have instructions for preparing Similac Advance formula hopefully within a week I’ll have instructions on how to prepare it for enfamel. Here is how to Prepare a Similac Advance from Power to the 27 calorie count.

How to prepare forumla:
1. Boil Water for 5 minutes, and then cool.
2. Mix together:

5 1/2 ounces of sterile water
4 unpacked level scoops of Similac Advance powder (use the scoop in the formula can)

How to prepare a batch:
1. Boil water for 5 minutes, then cool.
2. Mix together:

1 unpacked level measuring cup of Similac Advance powder
17 ounces of sterile water

Storage and warming guidelines:

Use prepared formula or store in the refrigerator. Use within 24 hours.
Place the bottle in a bowl of warm tap water for a maximum of 15 minutes in order to warm formula. Do not boil or warm in microwave.
After feeding begins, feed within 1 hour or discard. Do not refrigerate for later feedings.

For now we are sticking to bottle feeding. Mom’s schedule is very hard for her to breast feed. Though there are some disadvantages from not breast feeding we decided it’d still be best if we just get our baby accustomed to bottle feeding.

Similac Advance Early Shield is what was given to her at the hospital and we continued to feed her it. She’s two weeks old now and a $37.00 can of it was finished within the 2 weeks.

Onesies – infinite supply!

Must have! Onesies are great. They are convenient and you can never have enough. If you are becoming a father and want to have little undergarments like Onesies make sure you purchase a lot of them. I’m still a bit sick so I probably wont make sense writing this (again) but I just had to bring them up.

Onesies come in a variety of colors and sizes. They are must haves! You will need about one or two a day. I like the white ones so they go with all but color coordinating never is a wrong thing to do.

Gerber brand Onesies are pretty resistant to milk. They don’t leak through all that much. I highly recommend buying lots of them.

PUMA makes great baby shoes!

PUMA seems to make great baby shoes. I just ordered a pair of these size 2 for my little girl. They’re cute and look extremely comfortable. I had bought previous puma infant shoes but they were not bendies. If you are looking to put shoes on a new born make sure to have bendies. Bendies are pretty much flexible and sole-less shoes. They are best to use in the early stages of the babies life.
