Hi there! Wow, you story is amazing and encouraging. I volunteer with a non-profit orgaization that works with Jr high and High school students on "safe sex" and "descision making" we focus on abstinence, but we are realistic about it as well. I have just started to put together a presentation to give to jr. Highers about teen pregnancy. I wanted to get the guy's perspective and googled "teen DAD", this brought me to your blog. You've been a huge help getting insight on how this effects not only the mom but also that dad. Thank you! I myself , am a mom to two fabulous kiddos. I was just out of my teens when I had my first child, I was 20 years old. I just have to say thank you for writing this blog, My prayers are with you daughter and you and your GF. As a fellow chicago-er, Stay warm and hopfully you're not barried up to your eyeballs in snow too! :)

Hi... I just found your site. Your daughter is absolutely adorable! I'm the mother of 2 girls, 4 yrs old and 5 months old. My oldest was born with a congenital heart defect that required surgery when she was 2 days old. Hang in there! It gets much easier and I personally think that having gone through what we did made my family stronger and more appreciative of each other.

U are great. Being a responsible teen dad is not easy especially with so much things that you could have enjoy doing as a teenager but you willingly take up the responsibility to be a dad instead. I believe you will bring your daughter up to be someone great too!

Parenting is hard, no matter your age. But parenting a child with medical issues (and remaining positive despite them) takes a special kind of person. Congratulations to both you and your girlfriend ~ you have a beautiful daughter!
